The placements for the PGP 2012-14 batch at IIM - Indore saw the highest package of this season at the institute, as of now, of Rs. 32 lakh. Last year, the best package was Rs. 34 lakh.
MBA costs in India to go up by 19%, top B-schools set to hike fee for 2016

US report says visa-ban on Narendra Modi to be automatically lifted if he becomes PM
A report prepared by an independent and bipartisan wing of the US Congress has said that the 9-year US visa ban on Narendra Modi will be automatically lifted and he'll enjoy diplomatic immunity if he becomes the Prime Minister in the 2014 General Elections. In 2005, the US had denied visa to Modi in the wake of the 2002 Gujarat riots and has since not revoked its decision.
US Ambassador to India Nancy Powell resigns
US ambassador to India, Nancy Powell has resigned and will leave her post by the end of May. Speculation has been rife that the diplomatic row between India and the US involving the arrest of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade as well as Powell's aversion to Narendra Modi, who is favourite to become India's Next Prime Minister, might have led to her resignation. However the US State Department has denied these reasons and termed them as rumours.
Researchers identify 'good bacteria' that can protect women against HIV
Using a laboratory model of the human vagina, scientists have discovered that certain bacterial communities alter the way HIV infects and replicates. Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston have successfully identified the good bacteria that protect women from HIV infection and other infections.
'Electronic skin' developed to store information and release medicine
Researchers in the US have created an 'electronic skin' that is capable of storing and transmiting data about a person's movements, receiving diagnostic information and releasing drugs into skin. The technology could aid patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease or epilepsy.
