They are shown 99 briefcases which are numbered from 1 to 99, exactly one of which contains the grand prize of one million dollars. The contestants are allowed to choose one briefcase each. They each choose a briefcase but are not aware of what the other has chosen. After both have chosen the host announces that nobody got the winning briefcase. The host now permits each of them to ask him two questions, but in private so that the other contestant cannot hear. Chuck firsts asks, "Is the winning briefcase a perfect square?". Hearing the host's reply he then asks, "Is it greater than 50?". Hearing the answer Chuck feels confident he has figured it out. When its Larry's turn he asks, "Is the winning briefcase a perfect cube?". Upon hearing the answer he then asks, "Is the number greater than 20?". Hearing the host's answer even Larry feels he has found the right briefcase. Now all three of them gather back on the stage and the host sheepishly announces that his first answer to both the contestants was false. He then proceeds to reveal which briefcase each person has chosen and the questions they asked. The host then adds the final clues "The number on the winning briefcase is lower than the numbers on both of their briefcases and if you add the numbers on Chuck and Larry's briefcases to that of the winning briefcase then you get the double of a perfect square.“ What is the number on the briefcase containing the one million dollars? discuss | more puzzles   Do you have solution!
