The Ganges River basin covers over a quarter of India's land. Home to 500 million people, it is one of the most densely populated regions in the world.Tara from Adalpur, Moradabad is a government health worker and a Ramganga Mitra –' a friend of the Ramganga river, a tributary to the Ganga. Tara is one of the 5000 farmers who has adopted sustainable farming practices to reduce the chemical content in agricultural run-off and reduce quantum of water for irrigation.
Ramganga/Ganga Mitra is multi stakeholder group of committed volunteers including local communities, academicians, government officials, citizens, farmers and businesses who have come together to contribute to rejuvenation of the Ganga.
