This explains how he got access to classified documents. The latest string of revelations show 38 embassies and missions, including allies like France, Italy, Japan and Mexico, were spied upon by the US. European officials reacted angrily and said that the revelations could threaten an important trade-sharing deal and disrupt EU-US relations. • Massive protests break out in Egypt to oust Morsi, military serves 48 hours ultimatum Major protests broke out in Egypt demanding the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi, in an outpouring of anger at his not being able to transcend his roots in the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). Clashes broke out throughout the country killing at least 15 people. The military has served an ultimatum to Morsi to resolve issues within 48 hours, failing which they will enforce a roadmap. The military, however, specifically denied a 'coup'. • Mahindra Satyam suspends trading following merger with Tech Mahindra Mahindra Satyam will be suspended from trading with effect from July 4, 2013, following its merger with Tech Mahindra on 25th June. The merged entity is now called Tech Mahindra, which has become the fifth largest IT company in the country with revenues of $2.7 billion. • PMO asks for discussion on Jet-Etihad deal in Cabinet, wants to examine equity stake and services agreement The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has asked the civil aviation ministry to bring the Jet-Etihad deal for discussion in the Union Cabinet. Issues concerning air services agreement, equity stake and security concerns would be examined by respective departments following concerns raised by various MPs. • India launches first dedicated navigation satellite India successfully launched its first dedicated navigation satellite, the IRNSS-1A. It is designed to provide accurate position information service to users in the country as well as the region extending up to 1,500 km from its boundary. • Nokia to buy out Siemens in joint venture for $2.2 billion Nokia will buy Siemens' entire stake in their telecom equipment joint venture Nokia Siemens Networks for 1.7 billion euro (about $2.2 billion). The 50:50 joint venture was set up in 2007.
