He begins reading the above volume of books, from page 42 of volume 1 and reads till page 73 of volume 3 in the same fashion as the books are arranged in the figure and then turns back and reads again till page 31 of volume 2. He passes from one volume of the book to another with no punching on the cover of the books. The total number of pages in each book is 100, excluding the cover.
