It all started when the Indian Army accused the Pakistani army of crossing the border and mutilating the bodies of two Indian soldiers on Dec 8th, 2012. • Apple penetrates into Chinese Markets Apple CEO Tim Cook said that China is soon going to take over the United States as the largest market for Apple products in the world. • Barack Obama, Hamid Karzai meets at White House Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and US President Barack Obama met at the White House on January 11th, 2013 to discuss post-war relations between the two countries and Afghanistan's future security needs. • Inflation slows to 3-year low, RBI may cut rates India's Commerce and Industry Ministry said that the country's overall inflation has fallen to a three-year low. The RBI might ease its rates when it reviews its policy on January 29. • 2 year high for Sensex The Sensex and Nifty both rose to a 2-year high after the Finance Ministry decided to fasten the economic reforms process by modifying the General Anti-Avoidance Rules (GAAR). The BSE Sensex rose 0.4% to end at 19,986.82 and the broader Nifty rose 0.554% to end at 6,056.60. • Urjit Patel takes charge as RBI Deputy Governor The Reserve Bank of India appointed Urjit Patel as the new Deputy Governor to head the department of monetary policy. He will replace former deputy governor Subir Gokarn. • Pakistan SC orders arrest of PM Raja Parvez Ashraf The Pakistan Supreme Court ordered the arrest of Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf on grounds of receiving bribes in relation to Rental Power Projects. Meanwhile, Pakistani-Canadian Sufi cleric Tahir-ul Qadri launced his 'Million-Man Long March' against corruption from Lahore to Islamabad.
