The name 'Aam Aadmi Party' was coined by Mr. Kejriwal himself and was unanimously accepted by party members. • FCPA bribery probe leads to CFO and legal team's suspension from Walmart Bharti Walmart has announced that it will slow down or reconsider its plans for the many cash-and-carry stores it had planned to open in the country. This vigilance will be maintained until the investigation for violations by the Foreign Corruption Practice Act (FCPA) of the U.S. is completed. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was informed a few days ago that Walmart is planning to cover a larger area under the investigation to keep a check on potential violations of the FCPA in countries including Mexico, China, Brazil and India. • Ranjit Sinha is new CBI chief Ranjit Singh is to take on the role of the new chief of CBI. He succeeds Mr. AP Singh who retired in October. The BJP, who has opposed the appointment of a new chief for CBI before the Lokpal Bill is passed, received a setback when Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar openly supported the appointment of Mr. Ranjit Singh. • Jet Airways and SpiceJet in talks with Etihad and Qatar Airways respectively The shares of Jet Airways and SpiceJet have seen a new high as there are rumors floating about the airlines being in talks with foreign airlines for a stake sale. To cope with the dismal performance of the sector, the aviation industry is planning to invite foreign investment to save the day. Reports suggest that Jet Airways is in talks with Etihad Airways and SpiceJet with Qatar Airways for a stake sale. • Latest on Formula One The Brazilian Grand Prix turned out to be a thrilling event with Jenson Button of McLaren finishing in the top spot. Vettel became only the third driver to win three titles (based on yearly performances) in a row. Formula One legend Michael Schumacher drove for the last time in a professional circuit, after announcing that he will retire after the Brazilian GP earlier this year.
