CAT Question of the Day
In  the following question there are two blanks marked I & II. The words to fill in these blanks are given against I as (A, B, C, D) and II as (P, Q, R, S). The right words to fill in these blanks are given as four alternatives. The words on either side of the sign (::) have a similar relationship. That alternative which signifies this relationship is your answer.

OPTIONS

 1)AR
 2)BP
 3)BQ
 4)CS
Tip of the Day
When three terms are in Arithmetic progression, the middle term is the arithmetic mean of the other two. It is always convenient to take three terms in an A.P. as a - d, a and a + d. Similarly four terms in A.P. could be taken as a - 3d, a- d, a + d and a + 3d.
Last year's Question of the day (02-Jul-11)
F.A. Hayek, who called free will a 'phantom problem', observed that if we truly had free will, there would be no point in holding people responsible. What are praise and blame, after all, but tools used by people to causally shape the behaviour of others?
What is the assumption underlying Hayek's argument?
OPTIONS

1)Other people's opinions do not affect people's exercise of free will.
2)People shape others' behaviour using the tools of praise and blame.
3)Only praise and blame work if people fully accept the consequences of their actions.
4)Those who truly want to exercise their free will should not care about other people's opinions.
5)Holding people responsible for their behaviour is wrong if they are not free to behave as they choose.
